Revealed A Research Forum For All

Following on from my last post which was about  HRINZ  setting up an Academic Branch to “Bridge the Gap” between HR Academics and HR Practitioners  communities to strengthen the engagement and advance relevant HRM research.

I would like to tell you that HRINZ has decided to take the first step in bringing these two HR communities closer, by hosting its first inaugural HRINZ Research Forum.

The HRINZ Research Forum will be held on the 18 November 2010 at the University of Auckland Business School. This will be one day event  running from 8.30 am to 5.30pm.

Our one day Research Forum will include a wide range of HRM papers from academics and research based papers submitted by practitioners, which will allow many opportunities for discussion and debate on the issues facing the HR profession on a local, national or international level.  Another aim of the Research Forum is to find out from Mid to Senior level HR practitioners what topics or areas of HRM should be planned and researched to build a relevant HRM research agenda for future reference.

Not only is this a really exciting prospect for HRINZ and our members to participate in, but I feel very privileged to be working alongside some brilliant NZ leading HR Academics. We are so lucky to have Professor Peter Boxall, FHRINZ, Associate Professor Keith Macky, AFHRINZ and Professor Jim Arrowsmith, AFHRINZ, heading up our organisation committee  who are reviewing the speakers abstracts submitted for the HRINZ Research Forum.

Before you ask the organising committee has not finalised the line up of speakers for our Research Forum yet, but when they have you will be the first to know.  As I will post these details and further information on our blog and website page.  But for the moment my lips are sealed.

So, if you are interested in being part of HRINZ’s first ever Research Forum then keep this date free in your diaries, as registrations will be opening soon.

Personally, I can’t wait to see you all there in November 2010.
